The proceeds raised tonight will help ensure that our gene therapy program will go to trial. Our gene therapy research program has been underway for four years now; the data collected thus far is proving to be therapeutic. We could be in trial within two years. It literally all comes down to funding. Our tax dollars are not enough to cover the expenses of a clinical trail for an ultra-rare disease; pharmaceutical companies are reluctant to develop treatments for patients so few in numbers. It’s up to us to save these children.
